From Battlegrounds to Common Grounds
44th World Religions Conference
The World Religions Conference (WRC) has been serving for the last 44 years in Canada as an invaluable means for bringing different religious and ethnic communities together in a manner which breeds tolerance, peace, cooperation, and understanding amongst the different religions within our society. This event is Canada’s largest and longest running Multi-faith event.
The theme selected for this year’s conference is: From Battlegrounds to Common Ground - Resolving the conflicts before The End.
The theme calls upon faith communities to confront one of the most pressing challenges of our time. Wars continue to rage the world and threaten humanity towards a major world destruction. At this year’s World Religions Conference, representatives from eight world religions will share their perspectives on how spiritual teachings, moral principles, and lived experiences can help root out wars.
The conference further hopes that such mutual exploration will encourage better understanding and promote a harmonious co-existence among the members of Canada's cultural mosaic.
Speakers representing the world’s major religions including Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism, Indigenous Spirituality and Humanism will participate in the event.
The event is hosted by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at of Canada with the cooperation of several cities, media, academic institutions and faith based associations.
