Is God Relevant in Today's World
Scholars of 8 faiths and Philosophical Traditions participating
Multi Faith Presentations, Poems and Songs
29th World
Religions Conference in Canada
Waterloo,
Ontario,
October 24, 2009
How
World Religions explain the relevance of God in a today’s world of science,
society of economic uncertainty and cultural multiplicity. With the
advancement of Science and Technology, belief in Faith and God is often
considered a conflict with the belief in Science. World Religions will
explore if belief in God can coexist with belief in science and belief in
knowledge.
Every year this event
assembles people from diverse faith communities to promote mutual
understanding, respect, cohesion, and fraternity among all members of the
human family. We are all aware of the disastrous consequences resulting from
misunderstandings of each other’s faiths and ideas. Therefore, the
organizers of this event continue to strive to shorten the gap between faith
communities, and to demonstrate that we can live together in the spirit of
acceptance, harmony, and compassion.
The Conference is
expected to have an attendance of over 800. It is organized by the Ahmadiyya
Muslim Jama`at with the cooperation and partnership of the City of Waterloo,
City of Kitchener, University of Waterloo over 20 other organizations and
faith groups. The World Religions Conference is now the largest inter-faith
event of its kind in Canada.
The theme of this year's
conference "Is God Relevant in Today's World", will serve as the forum
of deliberations at this year’s day long, open to public, event. Renowned

the Humanists organizations. Religious organizations will present spiritual
presentations of poems and songs and set up a World Religions’ Exhibition.
Ms. Denise Baker, a famous
event moderator will preside and moderate the event.

Provincial and National members of parliament and leaders of Canada,
